About our Critiques...

Our professional instructors will critique 5 assignments from the Penciling Workbook

Using your own materials,
complete the first assignment to the best of your abilities,
then either scan or take a full image photo of your work.

Please include your Name and Assignment, and email the image to kubertcourses@kubertschool.edu.

Your assignment will be sent to an instructor of the Joe Kubert School for critique.

*Our instructors are both professional artists and teachers,
that being said,
the turnaround time for critiques can be
up to 3 weeks per assignment.

Great class and reference from one of the true masters!

I've been drawing for over 4 decades now and still found plenty of tips and advice in the book to make it a valued resource. The DVD is nice to see and offers some perspective from Joe himself, but is not as valuable as the workbook itself. The critiques were done on tracing paper over my originals (I think the process may be all electronic now), but offered some nice tips and insight. I would have liked to have known who was reviewing my work, but it was anonymous. You can buy the books and the critiques separately as well, and they frequently run a "Buy 1 get 2 free" promo on the books, so that's a good way to look at the course and figure which one you want to pursue next and then buy the critique separately later. This is a great do-it-at-your-own-pace option for those that are too far away from the school. Happy drawing!
